Dr. Hough is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain management. After completing his specialty training, he served in the US Air Force, where he directed the interventional pain management clinic at Wilford Hall USAF medical Center in San Antonio. He moved home to Maryland to enter private practice in 2001. He is is chairman of the pain management division of the anesthesiology department at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD. He regularly trains medical students and holds a faculty appointment to the George Washington University School of Medicine.
